The Brazilian Land Use Model (BLUM) training was held in Santiago on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2013. An Agroicone expert from Brazil, Leila Harfuch, presented BLUM so that the Chilean team could understand both the advantages and disadvantages of using it and how it could possibly complement the Chile AFOLU model.

MAPS Chile Project Launch

The Minister Benitez, Minister of Environment of Chile, launched the MAPS Chile project on the 15th of March 2012. The launch was attended by the Finance Minister, Felipe Larrain, the Vice-Minister of Energy, Sergio del Campo, Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Alvaro Cruzat, the Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors of Denmark and South Africa, representatives of the British Embassy and Swiss Embassy, and the Climate Development Knowledge Network.
