(7-9 May, 2013)
MAPS team members from Latin America, India and South Africa met in Bogotá, Colombia, to explore developmental co-benefits associated with mitigation actions.
This lab tackled the question of how climate change policies can benefit socio-economic development. Decision-makers and researchers have tried to understand so-called “co-benefits” of public policies for emissions reductions for a couple of years. Understanding the climate policies and their “co-benefits” is necessary when it comes to choosing “nationally appropriate mitigation actions”, which can qualify for international support under the United Nation’s Framework Convention of Climate Change.
